In this course you will review basic structures and vocabulary and then build on them to expand your ability to communicate orally and in writing. Growing your vocabulary will enhance your ability to understand written and spoken English.

Each of the review lessons takes about one hour to complete. Move faster on the easy parts and devote a little more time to parts that are new or difficult.

English, Introductory Skills II - A1

In the next review section of about 10 hours of activities, you will practice using time expressions, descriptive adjectives, terms for body and clothing, basic verbs and forming statements and questions.

Now that you are through with your review of basic grammar and vocabulary, let's move on to the next segment of your program. Go to your TMM homepage and switch your program from "Beginner, All Skills" to "Intermediate, All Skills, Level A2." Congratulations!

This program concentrates on skills in writing and reading, speaking and listening. It will review and expand your vocabulary and grammar skills.

Level A1

This is a level defined by the Common European Framework as follows:

At level A1, the learner is a beginner who can ...

...understand and use very elementary vocabulary and phrases to satisfy basic needs,

... introduce oneself and others and provide information such as nationality and age,

... interact with others in a simple manner provided with a sympathetic speech partner who speaks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

A2

This language proficiency level is defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Language as follows:

A learner at this level is able to understand basic vocabulary and expressions related to everyday matters (dates and times, personal and family information, basic shopping for food and clothing).

A learner at this level is able to communicate on a rudimentary level about simple and routine matters (simple exchanges of information, basic needs).
