English, A1 - Introductory Skills
In this review of about 9 hours of lessons, you will practice introducing yourself and exchanging simple, basic information with someone.

Now that you have completed this review of basic vocabulary, you will enter the language program, "English, Everyday Situations, All Skills." This course begins where our previous course ends, with Unit 11
Unit 11. Objects and Animals
- Learn the names of everyday items, animals and insects.
- Vocabulary. Expand vocabulary for talking about items of everyday life.
- Grammar. The verb "to have," interrogative words, tag answers and forming the plural.
Unit 12. Adjectives
- Increase vocabulary, describe yourself and objects in detail.
- Vocabulary, Adjectives, textures, volume, express opinions.
- Grammar. Prepositions of place, comparing equals, "What a….!"
Unit 13. Vacation Plans
- Make a reservation and discuss housing, rooms and furniture.
- Vocabulary. Forms of housing, rooms, objects and furnishings.
- Grammar. Talking about how much and how long.
- Unit 14. Cultural Exercises
Unit 15. The Summer Rental
- Learn more vocabulary about household objects and appliances.
- Vocabulary. Food, utensils and household objects.
- Grammar. Imperative (negative and affirmative), past interrogatives.
Unit 16. Grocery Shopping
- Ask questions in the grocery store about foods and ways of cooking them.
- Vocabulary. Stores, foods, food preparation.
- Grammar. The simple present and the present continuous, expressing obligation with "should" and "ought to," using "too" and "too much."
Unit 17. The Supermarket
- Learn vocabulary for foods, beverages and grocery-shopping.
- Vocabulary. Foods, drinks, shopping.
- Grammar. "Some" and "any," "not … either," and use of the pronoun "one."
