The Tell Me More program French, All Skills, Level A1 forms the basis of the following lessons. The course develops your ability to understand and to express yourself verbally and in writing. You will speak French confidently with activities to perfect your pronunciation and improve your command of French grammar.

1. Introducing Yourself - Se présenter 2:23
- In this unit you will learn how to introduce yourself. You'll find out about the different ways to say "you" and how they are used. You will be able to provide a few details about yourself.
- Vocabulary: Greetings, polite forms, family and civil state, basic time expressions.
- Grammar. Possessive adjectives, interrogative words, using "tu" and "vous," the verbs "avoir" ("to have") and "être" ("to be").
2. To the Table! - À table! 2:38
- This lesson helps you learn important skills such as asking what time to show up for the specialties of the North and South of France described here.
- Vocabulary. Foods and drinks, quantities, parts of the day and meals.
- Grammar. How to ask for "some," prepositions of time and time expressions, telling time.

Words and grammar are only parts of a system of communication … the cultural context is also important. These brief lessons provide an insight into an aspect of French-language culture.
4. A new house! - Une nouvelle maison! 2:34
- After working with this lesson you will be able to name the pieces of furniture in your house and describe where they are. Expanding ability to discuss cookery may make you hungry.
- Vocabulary. Cooking, defining location, describing furniture and rooms.
- Grammar. Negation, indefinite articles, introductory words, forming the plural.
5. Around town - Tour du village 2:21
- Taking a tour of town provides a way of learning how to ask questions, talk about places and addresses and continue learning how to describe where you are.
- Vocabulary. Defining position and directions, French words for public places and kinds of stores.
- Grammar. Putting different types of questions, conjugation and use of "vouloir" and "pouvoir" in the present tense, prepositions of location.
6. Talking about my Family - Parler de sa familie 2:21
- This lesson recycles and expands your skills in describing yourself. You will be able to say where you are from, give your age and civil status and also describe your family.
- Vocabulary. Family, nationality, identity, residency.
- Grammar. Pronouncing "s," colors, the verbs "être" ("to be") and "avoir" ("to have").
7. Talking about Myself - Parler de soi 1:56
- Describing yourself physically means learning how to name theWinged Victory - Louvre, Parisparts of the body and what you are wearing. You will also be able to talk about activities that you enjoy.
- Vocabulary. Clothing and accessories, parts of the body, social life.
- Grammar. Placement of adverbs in questions, placement of adjectives, negation.

- Expand your ability to communicate on a basic level with letters and numbers. Learn more ways to describe position. Use numbers to talk about units of measure.
- Vocabulary. Spelling and arithmetic, weights and measures.
- Grammar. Adverbs of place, the apostrophe, the definite articles
10. Hours and Dates - Heures et dates 2:06
- Learn to talk about the hours of the day, months, seasons, years - all about time.
- Grammar. The verb "aller," the pronoun "quelqu'un" ("someone"), the possessive adjectives, modal verbs.
