Foreign Language Requirement for College

If you studied a second language in high school, you may wish to continue with it in college. A general rule of thumb is that one year of high school equals one college course. So if you took four years of Spanish, for example, you should be able to skip over the first four semesters of Spanish. At some schools, you may be able to place out of language courses entirely by scoring high enough on your foreign language proficiency test. There are also standardized tests that some schools recognize that will satisfy the foreign language requirment.

With My Language Requirement, prepare for the placement test that shows how many courses you can skip. If your grades in high school foreign language courses were a bit shaky, a course with us will sharpen your skills so you don't end up in Language 101, learning the colors and the numbers yet again.
