Writing-Intensive Course

Five-Week Intensive Course Plan

In a "Writing Intensive" course, you and your instructor create two writing projects.

For a five-week intensive course, use the following as a guideline for your due dates.

Wednesday of Week 1: The first draft of your first writing project is due Wednesday following the beginning of your course.

Friday of Week 1: On Friday, you will receive your instructor's feedback and suggestions to guide you in revising your first draft.

Tuesday of Week 2: Your revision is due.

Thursday of week 2: Your instructor provides an evaluation of your first writing project ..... AND ... You send your instructor your idea for your second writing project, along with a list of basic vocabulary you will need to write about your topic.

Friday of Week 2. Your instructor okays your project by return mail or contacts you to discuss details or alternatives.

Tuesday of Week 3: Submit an outline of your writing project in your target language.

Friday of Week 3: Submit the first draft of your writing project.

Wednesday of Week 4: Your instructor provides feedback and guidance for revision for your second writing project.

Tuesday of Week 5: Submit the revision of your writing project.

Friday of Week 5: Your instructor provides an evaluation of your second writing project.

That's why we call it "intensive"!
